Virtual Tour on Social Entrepreneurship | Cyprus

We continue our journey with interviews, with the 4th one conducted in Cyprus on Wednesday, 24 March 2021. The volunteers of CCIF Cyprus interviewed Mr Doros Michael, the Director of Anakyklos Perivallontiki.

Anakyklos Perivallontiki is a Non-Profit Organisation and one of the first Social Enterprises in Cyprus. The main activity of the Social Enterprise is the recycling of fabrics, clothing, footwear, and other related items, linked to the company’s primary objective, the environmental sustainability through the recycling of fabrics, clothing, etc.

Additionally, Anakyklos Perivallontiki has broader environmental and social objectives.  The interview conducted by our team was a part of the activities of the European Social Entrepreneur (ESE) Project.

The international vision of ESE is to provide different training, working methods and cultural conditions. The project’s specific objectives are to support people in the acquisition of basic and key skills applied to social entrepreneurship to promote employability, socio-educational and professional development, and participation in civil and social life. Moreover, to support Youth workers to strengthen their professional development and promote actions to support high quality and innovative teaching.

Other activities of ESE project are to promote the EU agenda on youth work, support the capacities of youth workers in socio-educational activities, and develop and share effective methods to reach marginalized young people. Finally, to promote the inclusion and employability of young people with fewer opportunities (including NEETs), emphasising those at risk of marginalization and from a migrant background.
